Madeleine’s First Birthday - Post 1
Part of me is still in shock that I just typed that. First Birthday?? What? Too fast, too fast!
We had a circus/carnival theme and it was a joint party with our friend’s son J who was born 3 days after Maddie was. Thanks to so many people that helped cook and build the games, it was one our best parties yet!
Yes!! I painted that bean bag toss board. I found a game online that was made out of cardboard and I loved the artwork, but I wanted something more permanent. So I have our friend Bruce construct the board and I (very carefully) sketched out the design and then (even more carefully) painted the picture. I am NOT a painter, so I am thrilled with how this came out!
We took pictures of almost all our guests in the photo booth and the pictures turned out fantastic! Here are two pictures of us and the birthday girl!
The inspiration for the party came from fabric that I found months ago and I just knew that I had to make her dress for her birthday from it. The dress was a little big on her shoulders (this kid is SUCH a peanut), but she had fun running around in it for the first half of the party. It was made from cotton, so it was easy to clean too!
That’s it for this post! Pictures of Maddie eating her cake will be in the next post. Let’s just say…she eats cake like her mama does!
